1. Custom Orders
All swords are handmade, custom-carved from hard maple wood based on the design, photos, or
description you provide. Because each piece is made to order, build times typically range from 20–70
hours of work depending on design complexity and our current project queue. We will provide an
estimated timeline once your quote is confirmed, but timelines are estimates, not guarantees. Final
appearance may vary slightly from reference images due to the handmade nature of the work.
2. Pricing and Payment
• Pricing is based on design complexity and provided as a quote after reviewing your request
• A 50% deposit is required before work begins
• The remaining 50% balance is due upon completion, before shipping
• Prices listed on our website (Simple, Complex, Extravagant tiers) are estimates and may be
adjusted based on your specific design
3. Deposits and Cancellations
Deposits secure your place in our build queue and cover materials and time already committed. If you
cancel your order after the deposit has been paid and work has begun, the deposit is non-refundable.
If you cancel before any work has begun, contact us directly to discuss a resolution.
4. Returns and Refunds
Because every sword is custom-built to your specifications, we do not accept returns or offer refunds
once a project is complete. If you are unsatisfied with the final result, we will work with you to make
reasonable adjustments within the scope of the original agreed design.
5. Shipping
Shipping is included in your quoted price. We custom-build packaging to fit each sword and use
protective materials (bubble wrap, custom boxes) to minimize damage risk. Once a package leaves
our hands and is with the carrier, we are not responsible for delays caused by the shipping carrier. If
your sword arrives damaged, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos so we can assist you.
6. Product Use and Disclaimer
Our swords are handcrafted wooden art pieces intended for display, collection, or cosplay purposes.
They are not intended for combat use, sparring, or any activity involving physical impact, and we are
not liable for damage or injury resulting from such use.
7. Intellectual Property
Designs based on copyrighted characters, movies, shows, games, or books are built at the
customer's request for personal use. Customers are responsible for ensuring their intended use of the
finished piece (e.g., resale) complies with applicable copyright and trademark laws.
8. Communication
We will send progress updates and photos throughout the build process. Timely responses from
customers (e.g., confirming design details, answering questions) help us stay on schedule.
9. How to Report an Issue or Complaint
• Contact us within 7 days of delivery by email or phone with your order details and photos or a
description of the issue.
• We will review your complaint and respond within 2–3 business days with a proposed resolution
— such as a repair, adjustment, or partial refund — consistent with our no-return policy on custom
work.
• If we're unable to reach an agreement, either party may pursue the matter through applicable
consumer protection channels or small claims court in Ontario.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Archibald Wood Works is not liable for indirect, incidental, or
consequential damages arising from the purchase or use of our products.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Continued use of our services after
changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
